Al-Jumhuriya is an independent media and knowledge production outlet originating from Syria.


In our collaboration, we conceived a strategy that thoroughly studied the brand’s positioning within an alternative media landscape. We further crafted a visual identity that pays close attention to the role played by culture, ideas, memory, and history in reconstituting Syrian identity and public culture. Our main collaboration with Al-Jumhuriya materialized through the website and its architecture, which became the strategic backbone for shaping the brand’s structure. This project was developed in collaboration with Khajag Apelian for Arabic type design and lettering.
