Hakawati is a Berlin-based, non-profit collaboration with The Sundance Institute.
The project brings together cinema artists and refugee youth from Syria and other conflict zones. Professional artists mentor and inspire young refugees through creative workshops in screenwriting, acting, directing, cinematography, editing, and music composition.

As a meeting-point and a dynamic platform for storytelling, the brand identity fuses the boldness of the impactful cause to the soft and humanitarian aspect of it. The logo constitutes a playful arrangement of both Arabic and Latin typography marked with dissected letters that later expand into visual elements used across different applications to resonate the words and voices of the stories being told.
