The Counter Academy for Arab Journalism (الأكاديمية البديلة للصحافة العربية) is a one-year fellowship program that reimagines journalism education across the Arab world through an interdisciplinary approach that combines critical inquiry, creative practice, and social analysis.
Established by Febrayer, a network of independent Arab media organizations, the academy provides an alternative framework for emerging journalists and researchers by integrating perspectives from the humanities, feminist studies, history, social sciences, and creative writing.
To support the academy's mission and digital presence, Kite C.S. designed a website that translates its progressive educational model into an accessible and engaging online platform. The digital experience was structured to clearly communicate the fellowship's philosophy, curriculum, and resources while accommodating diverse content formats and audiences. Through a thoughtful information architecture and user-centered interface design, the platform reinforces the academy's role as a contemporary space for critical learning, knowledge exchange, and independent journalism in the region.
