This project is a design proposal for the identity of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
In the summer of 2024, Kite C.S. was invited to present a visual direction for the pavilion. The design merges modularity with fluidity, shaping an abstracted Arabic calligram that draws from the architectural design of Lina Ghotmeh Architecture's pavilion. The calligram echoes the structural rhythm, materiality, and interplay of movement of the architecture, reinforcing the theme of connectivity within sea cultures. This fusion of form and meaning reflects Bahrain’s rich maritime heritage while embracing a forward-thinking vision.
Expanding into a dynamic visual system, Kite C.S. evolved the elements into interactive vessels that symbolize movement, exchange, and transformation. The result is an adaptable visual language deeply rooted in storytelling, honoring Bahrain’s traditions while projecting a bold, contemporary identity.
